The hippy hipBee chicks..

For some time now, I have really wanted to be part of an online sewing bee. I didn't, however, want to be part of one where I might never meet any of the members. I went to the FQ Retreat this year with the idea turning over in my head, but not fully formed. I met Catherine at the Retreat and we spent some time chatting over the idea and how we would like the bee to be. The following weekend I met Sarah and Judith in Belfast and I approached Sarah with my idea. Sarah too, thought that we should form a bee so then there were three of us until...Judith wanted in too. Over the past couple of weeks our numbers have gradually grown until now there is  a complete hive of hipBees. The hippy hipBees come from Scotland, Northern Ireland and England so hopefully we will be able to meet up at some point in the future. I think that we are all looking forward to our new venture and our email inboxes have been buzzing with news and information these last couple of weeks. Sarah has made us a brilliant blog button which looks very hippyish!

We would like to think that we are the 'flower power' hipBees of the quilting world! Please feel free to follow the hipBee link and check out our shiny new hipBee Flickr group... We are starting our hipBee in August with Reene being our Queen Bee. So watch this space and join us on our hipBee adventures over the next 12 months...
