Absent with leave

Hi
I have been a little absent from Blogland as we are in the middle of the holiday season. My Husband, younger son and myself are at New Wine in Newark this week. There 6,000+ people all camping out at the showground with minimal toilet and showering facilities, but with great teaching and worship, plus a little creative art on the side. Those of you who know me, will realise that I am not the camping type. So it is very fortunate that Newark is only 20 minutes from home, which means that I can have B&B at home each night! There are many campers who scoff at my inability to embrace the camping way of life however, they are always happy for me to do their washing and freeze their freezer blocks whilst I am at home!!! I guess I just don't get what is so great about camping!!!

I have been a little limited on what I can do on the sewing front due to our holidays. Fortunately, I have been able to do a little EPP and continue with the two projects from the Fat Quarterly Sewing Retreat.

Can you remember that I had started the Triangle City block?

Well it progressed to this..

I then appliquéd it to the background fabric and quilted around some of the seams.

I made a covered zipper opening...
Back of the Triangle City cushion
I am really happy with how this cushion worked out. I may well make another if I have free time on my next little jaunt away.

Here it is nestled with my other cushions on my sofa.

Next up on my 'to finish' list is to turn my Spring Carnival EPP that was started in another Fat Quarterly Sewing Retreat Class into another cushion.
This is as far as I have got… 6 more of these to make.

So if it rains this afternoon, I will be in a cold and leaky tent doing a bit EPP - ing!
